Upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic will be “raw and chaotic”

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 by mattj

The new biopic on the life of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain will be “raw and chaotic”, says the film’s new director Oren Moverman. Speaking to The Guardian, New York-based Moverman revealed more details of what he has planned.

He declared: “It’ll be raw and chaotic, which is what Cobain’s life was like.”

Moverman is best known for his work on the 2007 Bob Dylan biopic “I’m Not There,” starring Cate Blanchett and Heath Ledger. He was nominated for an Oscar for his script.

Speaking about the new trend for unconventional biopics, Moverman said his Cobain biopic, based partially on the biography “Heavier Than Heaven” by Charles R Cross, will be “more linear than ‘I’m Not There’; it’ll take you from A to Z. People know the shortcut version — he took a lot of heroin, wrote ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, became the biggest rock star in the world, and killed himself. Those known things about him are to me the least interesting”.

The film is being produced by Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, who is currently engaged in a war of world’s with the “Twilight” actor Robert Pattinson over whether he would be suitable for the lead role or not. Pattinson has rejected claims that he is interested in the part.

Liam Gallagher claims new band will be “bigger than Oasis”

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 by mattj

In possibly the most audacious claim since John Lennon claimed The Beatles were ‘bigger than Jesus’, Liam Gallagher has claimed his new band, Beady Eye, will be ”bigger than Oasis.”

”It’ll be bigger,” Gallagher told London’s Sunday Times. ”I’ve got no doubt about the music, no doubt about me. I’ve never sounded better.”

”[Noel] will come crawling back very fucking soon, man,” Liam said. ”He thinks he’s the leader, he thinks every decision he makes is right. I started this f***ing band. I am Oasis.”

The new band are ”three quarters” of the way through recording their upcoming album and fans can expect ”proper rock ‘n’ roll”, not the ”pop” that was Oasis.

Noel Gallagher walked out of Oasis after a backstage spat in Paris at 2009’s Rock en Seine. Only time will tell whether Beady Eye are going to be ”bigger than Oasis.”

Come on Liam, we think you need to chill out. ”What’s The Story Morning Glory” sold 35 million albums and shot your band to headline slots at the biggest stadiums in the world. Are you freaking serious? We think both Gallagher brothers need to get their egos in check…

Madonna warned about noise level at UK house party

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 by mattj

Madonna has been served with a noise abatement notice for a karaoke party at her London home.

The ‘Celebration’ singer faces a fine of up to £5,000 after her staff threw a loud party at her home in the Marylebone area of London, while Madge was away.

The 51-year-old pop superstar is reportedly “furious” about being given the official warning, which came about after angry neighbours complained to Westminster Council, and has been threatened with the huge fine should it happen again.

A friend of the singer said: “Madonna likes a good party like anyone else but she is respectful of her neighbours and doesn’t like to upset anyone. She was absolutely furious when she found out.”

After the complaints were made, officers turned up shortly after 2pm on the Sunday afternoon, spoke to partygoers through the intercom and asked them to reduce the noise.

The officers were refused entry to the building and were told Madonna, 51, was not inside.

A spokesperson for the council said: “In order to deal with the matter, a notice was served by posting it through the box at the premises. The notice was addressed to the owner or occupier at the address ordering that the noise be stopped, which it was. Any further offence could see Madonna landed with a £5,000 fine.”

Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham has thrilled her pals with how well her new career is going and delights in sharing her knowledge and expert tips.

Her former Spice Girls bandmate Emma ‘Baby’ Bunton was recently pictured wearing one of her gal-pal’s creations. She said, “I chose it myself and I love it. Victoria’s dresses always make you feel so stylish. I am so lucky to have a great friend who designs wonderful outfits! She is an amazing designer. She has given me her advice before and told me to keep it classic.”

Emma, who was also joined in the group by Geri ‘Ginger’ Halliwell, Mel ‘Scary’ Brown and Mel ‘Sporty’ Chisholm, also spoke of how much she enjoys spending time with her former bandmates’ children.

She added, “It was so nice on the last tour. I had just had my son Beau at the time. Mel C hadn’t had Scarlet at that point and she spent a lot of time with Beau. And so when I found out she was pregnant, I was so pleased. We all go, ‘Look at us with our bubbas!”’

However, the quintet don’t pass on parenting advice to one another.

”Do we swap tips?” Emma laughingly asked, “No, we are gossiping girls!”

Charlotte Church and husband separated to “save their children”

Monday, July 19th, 2010 by mattj

Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson have split up because they didn’t want to ‘ruin’ their children’s lives with their arguments.

The Welsh rugby player ‘ who split from his singer-and-TV star fiancee in May ‘ admits the couple’s relationship had reached a low and they were both worried what effect their verbal fights would have on their children, Ruby, two, and 18-month-old Dexter.

Henson said, “It’s no secret we weren’t getting along. But we didn’t want to drag it out for another couple of years. I couldn’t have the children five or six years old and crying because we were arguing. I wouldn’t want to tear the family apart then, that’s horrible. I just knew it was going to ruin their lives if we’d carried on. I don’t want them growing up with issues. By doing it this way they’ll think it’s normal to see mummy on some days and daddy on others. It was a brave decision but a sad one.”

Gavin, 28, is still struggling to understand what went wrong in the relationship and admits he thought he would be with Charlotte, 24, for the rest of his life.

The 28-year-old sportsman continued, “We loved each other but weren’t good for each other. We were arguing a lot. Not over anything in particular, but these things build up and up. You either work through them or you don’t. I guess we didn’t.”

Gavin is heartbroken not to be able to see his kids everyday but he is trying to convince himself he and Charlotte made the right decision to separate.

He said: ‘Being apart from them kills me. I just have to keep telling myself it’s for the best and that Charlotte and I split up for their sakes.’

Pink was rushed to the hospital after falling from a harness into a barricade during a concert Thursday night at the Easy Credit Station in Nurnberg, Germany. She was hanging from the harness when she fell onto a steel barricade. The show ended immediately.

Pink is doing well now and even Tweeted from the ambulance on the way to the hospital. “To all my nurnberg fans… I am embarassed and very sorry. I’m in ambulance now but I will b fine.”

The singer also explained what happened via the social networking site, “didn’t get clipped in2 harness correctly, drug me off stage, fell in2 barricade. Getting xrays.I hope it at least looked cool!!!”

After getting checked out, the ‘So What’ singer let her fans know she was okay, Tweeting, “nothings broken, no fluid in the lungs, just seriously sore. I made that barricade my b*tch!!!” Thanx nurnberg :(

Her husband Carey Hart also Tweeted about the accident saying, “already out of the hospital” and “all good. Just got the s*** kicked out of her by the barrier.”

Pink performs in a harness every show while on tour. Earlier this year, she wowed everyone at the 2010 Grammys when she performed her song ‘Glitter in the Air’ while suspended in air. Pink plans on continuing her tour as normal after taking a few days to recover. We at Team FanShake are happy she’s OK.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is now officially the most watched video on YouTube, claiming the title from Lady Gaga. As of Monday morning (19 July), the 16-year old’s video for ‘Baby’ racked up over 250 million hits, relegating Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” to second place with 247.5 million.
